Pruning

The farmer knows the importance of pruning , that is, the selective removal of parts of a plant. Reasons to prune plants include, improving or maintaining plant’s health, and increasing harvest yield and the quality of flowers and fruits. The practice entails targeted removal of diseased, damaged, dead and non-productive tissue from plants. The same natural process also applies to us because to improve our performance and to the quality of our "fruit", we need to maintain or improve our mental and spiritual health. For that, we must prune everything that is sick, damaged, dead and unproductive, within us. Usually, we can not prune ourselves, but God knows what hurts us and He Himself handles the pruning. Jesus said: God cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. (John 15:2-4 ) . Even though it hurts you, do not resist being pruned by God, because it takes you to achieve your life purpose.
