My Family Is A Disaster! There are no perfect families, each one has its own problems and is becoming known the term dysfunctional family. In a dysfunctional family, inadequate or immature behavior from one or both parents inhibits the healthy emotional development of the children. What makes a dysfunctional family? Different professionals will give different opinions, but we will share the Christian point of view. A family is dysfunctional when they don’t know God’s love and don’t follow the teachings that God gives us in His Word. The love of God teaches us: Each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband (Ephesians 5:21-33) . Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. If you honor your father and mother, things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord. (Ephesians 6:1-4). The father and mother, are both responsible, for the emotional health of the family.

Live In The Kingdom

Live In The Kingdom. God created the universe perfect and ordered with the laws that govern it. Those laws are not going to change, whether we accept them or not. All the universe works without our intervention, under the God’s laws, but we humans think we can change those laws, and that caused our downfall. When God created us, He walked among us, spoke directly to us and He commanded us to obey its laws without judging whether they were good or not (Genesis 2:16-17). But we were tempted to believe that we could make judgements and take decisions on whether or not we should obey God’s laws, making us equal to God even though He is the Creator and Lord of the universe ( Genesis 3:5). So we were separated from God, until Jesus restored our communication with Him The reality is that human beings can not change the laws of God and we can see the results our small world, filled with depression, suicide , violence, hatred, sadness, evil, infidelity, aggression, vanity, arrogance and total lack of control. However, there is still time to change course and seek God to obey Him. We just have to follow Jesus and do what He commanded us to do, to restore our communication with our Father in heaven and live according to His plan, in His Kingdom. Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. Matthew 25:34

Don't Look Back

Don't Look Back. People change and the factors that make us change are internal and produced by age, maturity, learning and experiences. But there are also external changes in our environment and circumstances around us. These external changes also produce internal changes in us, because we need to adapt to new external conditions.

The problem is that sometimes we get anchored in the past, that we don't accept today changes, we don't make the internal adjustments necessary to adapt and go through life looking back. This attitude takes away the flexibility to adapt to new circumstances.

What is the solution? Don't look back. Leave behind your past that keeps you from moving forward and progressing. Learn to accept the changes because they bring advancement opportunities that are lost when you don't accept them. Talking about leaving the past behind, Jesus said: Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God. Luke 9:62

Today you have the opportunity to decide. You can stay anchored in the past or weigh anchor and depart forcefully forward, without looking back.

We Have To Move The Mountain

We Have To Move The Mountain. Lord, my work is heavy. I need to work hard every day, from dawn until dusk . I have thoughts that I don't advance and that my efforts are in vain. At the end of each day I feel very tired and some days I feel frustration.

However, I thank you Lord. Because through my circumstances, You have strengthened me, You have made me grow and You taught me to work by faith. I will keep fighting even when exhausted, even though my human eyes can not see that I advance and I feel willing to give up.

I can keep going because You support me, You restore my exhaustion and feed my strength, because You fortify my will and warrant my victory. I can keep fighting, because You live in me .

Thank you Lord for illuminating my path, guiding my steps, taking all my fears and doubts, calming the storm, holding my hand and not letting me sink. Thank you Lord, for the daily bread and for moving the mountain, because it is impossible for me, but it is possible for you. In The Name of Jesus, I tell  the mountain to move and the mountain will move.

If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain: Move from here to there, and it would move. Nothing would be impossible. Matthew 17:20

Does Complaining Get You Anywhere? You think you have reason to complain about life and everything that happens in the world. However, the question is: Does complaining get you anywhere? No. Right? Complaining makes you sick and locks you in a dark world, because you stop enjoying who you really are, what you really have and you forget to live. That's why Paul advises: Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18). And also: I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength (Philippians 4:11-13). So, if you thank and bless, you activate all possibilities and opportunities that God has for you, because complaining darkens the light of your life and prevents you from seeing the true blessings of God. Change today your complaint in thanks and blessings to God and receive what He has in store for you.

You are Invited. Are you Going To Go? Some people go through the experience of preparing a great meeting and after all the preparation effort, investment of time and money, many of the guests do not attend. Jesus told this parable to illustrate what happens when God invites us into the kingdom of heaven: The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a king who prepared a great wedding feast for his son. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servants to notify those who were invited. But many of them refused to come! (Matthew 22). This parable ends with the sentence: Many are called, but few are chosen. We might add: Many are invited, but few attend. You got your invitation, do not miss the party. Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life: No one can come to the Father except through me (John 14). Seek Jesus and follow Him, with Him will enter the great heavenly feast. We are all invited, but not all of us will attend. Do Not Stay Outside! That's the best party of your life... you eternal life.

When Is The Day Of Love And Friendship? Thinking about the day of love and friendship, we read The Apostle Paul that tells us in his first letter to the Corinthians, chapter 13: If there is no love in us: We have nothing, we are nothing and we gain nothing. In addition, he tells us that having love within us means: to withstand everything. being kind, not envious, not to be conceited or proud, not rude or selfish, not angry or hold a grudge, not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoice in the truth, suffer all things, believes all things, hopes all and endure all. Paul continues telling us that the love will never cease to exist and that there are three virtues: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. The day of love and friendship is everyday, when we live and practice the true love Paul explained us.

The Day of Love and Friendship. Do You Have anything To Celebrate? Thinking about the day of love and friendship. We often ask ourselves if we have true friends. However, it is very convenient to look in our own mirror: Are we really good friends with someone? Try to see yourself  like “your friends” see you and ask yourself if you have behaved with them as a true friend. Do not expect to have true friends, if we have not been true friends. Jesus taught us: Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you (Matthew 7:12) and he also said: There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends (John 15:13). Good friends does not judge their friends and love them despite knowing their faults; they get involved in the problems of their friends and feel sorry for them; if they have to correct their friends, they do it with love and give them the freedom to think aloud in their company. It does not make sense to celebrate the love and friendship Day, unless we really offer our true friendship.

Sex Outside Marriage

Comments on the results of the survey on sex and marriage.

The 4th and 6th February, we invite our followers through the Social Networks, to participate in a survey about sex outside marriage. We got 197 participants in the survey in English and 94 participants in the survey in Spanish. The numerical results are in the image and you will find the comments below.

1. The approach that generated more rejection was adultery. In other words, married people having sex outside marriage.
2. In second place, the concept of teenagers having sex is rejected.
3. Third place of rejection is for young people who have sex without being married.
4. Finally the concept that generates less rejection, is adults who have sex without being married.
5. These order of rejection is the same, among the Spanish respondents and the English respondents.
6. However, rejection levels are higher in all cases, among the respondents in English than the Spanish respondents.
7. A large proportion of survey participants are Christians (Catholic + Evangelical), 97% in Spanish and 94% English. This is natural, because since we publish Christian content, the vast majority of our followers are Christians.
8. The question is: If the Bible condemns fornication and adultery as sin, and between 94% and 97% of survey participants identified themselves as Christians, why it wasn't achieved over 90% rejection to sex outside marriage, in all questions?
9. According to the 1-5 rating scale of the survey, 90% rejection would rank 4.6 in all questions (90% at 5 and 10% at 1). However, the only question that obtained this level of rejection was the last question about adultery. All others questions, including the general question about sex outside of marriage, were below that level.
10. What is the conclusion? That even though the Bible condemns fornication and adultery as sin, Christians do not obey this completely.
11. The Facts support our survey’s conclusion. According to the American Religious Identification Survey (ARIS) (2008) 76% of the American adult population identified themselves as Christians. However, the National Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) 2007 shows that 47.8% of US high school students reported having had sexual intercourse. The Federal National Survey of Family Growth 2010 reports that 95% of adults by age 44 have had sex before marriage. Sex therapist Peggy Vaughan, author of "The Monogamy Myth" conservatively estimates that about 60 percent of married men and 40 percent of married women will have an affair at some time during their marriage. Since 1971 Bill Mitchell. has documented the activities of those who commit adultery. As an investigator proving thousands of adultery, Mr. Mitchell has compiled these statistics: Within the last decade, incidents of adultery have risen to this alarming rate of 50-70 percent in America.
12. So, in a country where 76% of the people report to be Christian, half the high school kids have sex, 95% of adults have sex before marriage and more than half of the population commits adultery. I guess it is very similar in other countries. So, there are many Christians that do not follow Christian Principles and Values, regarding sex and marriage. However, they point their Christian fingers very proudly to people committing other sins. Is this honest? Is this Christian?

Please comment. We really need to start talking about this. We should try to bring all Christians closer to Jesus. What made them wander away? What have we done wrong? Why is the world attracting Christians so much, they do not see they are hurting themselves? Why the world has convinced us that sex outside marriage is fun, there is nothing wrong with it and the Bible forbids it only to make our life boring? Why Christians do not understand that God tells us not to do it for our own good, to prevent to hurt ourselves? Why our Christian leaders do not have a strong position on this, and preach, teach and promote, a life following Jesus and following His Principles and Values?

How Difficult Is To Become A Diamond! The name diamond comes from the Greek and means "unbreakable" for the hardness of the mineral. However, before being "The Unbreakable Mineral" the diamond was simple coal. Diamonds are carbon crystallized at high pressure, deep below the surface of the earth and at very high temperatures. There were very adverse circumstances that transformed something soft, without beauty and with a very low value, such as coal, into an unbreakable and beautiful mineral, with very high value. Are you surrounded by very adverse circumstances? Do you want to be cheap Coal? or, do you want to become a valuable diamond? God wants to perfect you, teaching you to overcome adverse circumstances. It is written in Romans 8:28: God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Be strong, persevere and you will become a Diamond cut by God!

2014. January. “Following Jesus Inc.” Founders, Yaneth y Francisco Garcia, Began working Full Time in the Project.

January. Louis Capdevila, VP La Teresita, “The King’s Ministries International” President for 18 years and “The King’s Church & Christian Center” Pastor and Mentor for 22 years, joins Following Jesus Inc. as Director.
